Creator Bundle 2

Overview Creator Bundle 2Creator Bundle 2 follows on from the Starter Bundles and may be used for whole class activities, ranging from teacher prescribed activities to tasks that are more open-ended and student driven.

Creator Bundle 2 contains class sets of modelling modules, components and the upgraded software Project Tools. The earlier Acorn Tasks, or focused activities, may now be developed as themes. 

Drawing from a wider, pre-determined range of subsystems, learners are able to design their own unique control systems using drag and drop icons;  Full modelling and making guides can be printed out for these activities and the reusable SmartStart modelling sets and components quickly enable them to be successfully prototyped in the real world.

The Project Tools’ site licence allows learners to independently develop their project designs. They can appropriately access the design tools, assignments, support guides and interactive tutorials to develop their knowledge and understanding.

Bundle 2 contains worksheets and getting-started guides and is suitable for ages 11-14+ or for those developing their understanding of electronics and systems. See pink tabs above and below for further details.

Out of the Box 2

The Modeller/Investigator - Out-of-the-Box No. 2 is for class use. It supports paired-learners model and test the four pre-designed Acorn Tasks featured in the starter bundles. Ten SmartStart modelling modules are provided with all the necessary components to make the Acorn systems plus a reel of adhesive copper tape to build the Track Layer circuits also featured in the Project Tools software. The hardware may also be used to model follow-up systems designed with the Project Tools software.

Laminated teaching resources and a full set of subsystem designing cards are provided uncut on A4 card. These are used to introduce the relevant subsystems for projects undertaken and provide the manageable options when learners are designing their own systems.

Out of the Box 3

The Creator/Developer - Out-of the-Box No. 3, now supports the modelling of projects designed with the Project Tools' SmartStart designing tool. Five "Developer" packs introduce a greater range of input/process and output components to those already encountered in the starter Acorn tasks. A full list of component order codes is supplied to expand these into class packs as required. Laminated photocopiable teaching resources are also supplied.

A pack of 20 FastTrack project PCB's is provided for class soldering projects. Alternatively these may be used to make demonstration circuits based on the Acorn focused Tasks or systems developed with the Project Tools SmartStart design tool and Developer packs.
